Squirrel in the Meadow Musical Jewellery Box

The Squirrel in the Meadow musical jewellery box by Trousselier combines a place for little treasures with Strauss's The Blue Danube. Squirrel illustrations and botanical patterns decorate the outside, while a small moving figure brings a musical surprise to the inside.

A place for keepsakes, with music

• A top compartment offers space for small pieces of jewellery and personal keepsakes.
• A front drawer provides a separate storage space with an easy-to-spot knob.
• A mirror inside the lid forms the backdrop to the musical figure.
• A manually wound mechanism accompanies the figure's movement with a classical melody.
• Squirrels, leaves and flowers carry the nature theme across the box.

Discover the Squirrel in the Meadow musical jewellery box

Start with the lid closed. Look for the squirrels among the branches, then notice the leaves and flowers around them. Opening the box and winding the mechanism shifts attention to the interior. The moving figure and familiar melody offer a different way to enjoy the scene.

When it is time to put things away, each space can have a purpose. The top compartment might hold favourite pieces, while the drawer keeps a special memento separate. Jewellery and objects suggested for storage are examples of use and are not included with the box.

You can also share the moment with a child: listen to the tune, watch the figure and invent a short story about the squirrels on the lid. Choosing what belongs in each compartment makes the box a personal little space. Between uses, the illustrated exterior can remain on display on a dresser or shelf as part of the room's decoration.
