First of all, the Monopoly Deal card game in English, by Hasbro, transforms the buying and trading of properties from Monopoly into a fast-paced card game full of twists and turns.
The goal is to collect three complete sets of properties in different colors. In addition, action cards allow you to collect rent, trade properties, and surprise your opponents. It is a practical way to bring the Monopoly universe to the table, without the traditional board.
What makes Monopoly Deal such a fun game?
- Victory with a concrete goal: be the first to complete three sets of properties in different colors.
- Action cards that change plans: collecting rent, trading, or stealing properties can transform the game in an instant.
- Choices on every turn: deciding between saving money, acquiring properties, and using actions adds variety to the gameplay.
- Compact card format: easy to set up for a session with friends, family, or during a trip.
- Fast games: the manufacturer states that a game can last around 15 minutes, making it a great option to play again.
From the first card to the winning set
At the start, the cards are shuffled and five are dealt to each player. The remaining cards form the draw pile. Throughout the game, each participant tries to collect properties and manage their money, paying attention to the opportunities that arise in their own hand and the collections their opponents are building.
On each turn, the player draws cards and can play properties, build up their bank, or use action cards. For example, collecting rent can force an opponent to pay. A well-chosen trade can bring someone closer to victory. In turn, wild property cards help complete sets and adapt the strategy to the evolution of the game.
Therefore, the challenge is not just to collect cards: it is to understand when it is worth protecting the sets already started and when it is worth risking a move that changes the situation at the table. Since properties and payments can change hands, an initial advantage does not necessarily decide the outcome.
Finally, the first person to complete three sets of properties in different colors wins. Then, simply shuffle again for a new game, with different combinations, decisions, and surprises. Monopoly Deal in English preserves the theme of buying, rent, and negotiation from Monopoly in its own card game format.
