Very similar to its American cousin, the Appaloosa, the European Knabstrupper inherited genes from prehistoric ponies that give it a distinctive spotted coat. Due to its quick thinking, tall body, and long limbs, the Knabstrupper is commonly bred for equestrian sports, including dressage and driving.
