Cobi Messerschitt ME 262A 1A

The Messerschmitt Me 262, nicknamed Schwalbe in the fighter versions, or Sturmvogel in the fighter-bomber versions, was the world's first operational jet fighter. Design work began before the start of World War II, but problems with engines, metallurgy, and high-level interference kept the aircraft in operational status with the Luftwaffe until mid-1944. The Me 262 was faster and more heavily armed than any allied fighter, including the British jet-powered Gloster Meteor. One of the most advanced aviation projects in operational use during World War II, the roles of the Me 262 included light bomber versions, reconnaissance, and experimental night fighter.
