The muskox (Ovibos moschatus) is a caprine bovid that can reach up to 2.3 meters in length and 1.5 meters in shoulder height, and can weigh up to 400 kg. It lives in arctic regions, and thanks to its furry coat, it can withstand temperatures as low as -40°C. Despite its name, muskoxen are more closely related to goats than to cattle. Their name comes from the odor emitted by males during the mating season, called musk.
